Bristlecone Pines, found almost exclusively in the Western United States, growing just
below the treeline at elevations up to 11,200 feet, are the oldest known living organisms
in existence. Among the specimens in the White Mountains of Inyo National Forest
stands the oldest known individual tree in the word, which germinated in 3,051 BC !
